"First The Seed" expresses the basic premise that underlies the seed industry: there is no substitute for quality seed—a fact of life dating back to the dawn of civilization when the first post-nomadic people knew it as the difference between thriving and surviving. Quality seed is essential for the growth and development of quality crops and an abundant, nutritious food supply.

The TSTA Foundation furnishes 13 annual college scholarships to deserving Texas students that might otherwise have difficulty getting the education they need. Seven of our scholarships are either fully endowed, or on their way to being fully endowed, and six are funded through annual gifts from the TSTA Foundation to our flagship universities.
