Scott Seed, TSTA Member
According to Coby and Chad Kriegshauser, 2021 marks the year that Scott Seed Company in Hereford, Texas will celebrate its 75th birthday. The company was founded in Deaf Smith County by their grandparents, Ira and Leona Scott, in 1946 on their farm west of Hereford.
In 1957 the company was relocated to its present location in Hereford. The success of Scott Seed Company owes much to the strong foundation and commitment that the family started 75 years ago.
"We are immensely proud of what we have accomplished through years of hard work and dedication," Coby and Chad say. "The lifelong relationships and business partnerships made in the Ag industry, in that span of time, will always be cherished. The old saying that if you love what you do for a living, you never have to work a day in your life is truly a fact. We love what we do here, and we consider all our employees as family and have the best workforce in the industry."
Scott Seed has nurseries in Costa Rica as well as in Texas. They have developed many new and exciting forage and sorghum varieties that have been shipped to over 20 countries all over the world. Coby and Chad say their breeding program is second to none and their future is bright in that department.
Along with sorghum, forages, and grains, they offer a wide variety of products, including wheat, triticale, and oats.
